Wow, I can totally single out which mistake he means

Anyway, today there was only two cameras and I was the floor manager (mostly). For the first half, it was good as I had some guy I don’t know as the wideshot camera, and I was the roaming camera which had to change quickly from person to person when they are talking.

Second half, and Aswin was the wideshot camera. Which basically means just watch it and make sure you adjust it a little bit when guests come in.

1. Aswin was Camera #1, so when we hear ‘Adjust Camera 1′, he has to move it.
“Camera 1, can you do a wideshot?”
Aswin Zooms In
Me: You need to do a wideshot
Aswin: What?
“Camera 1, a wideshot!”
Me: You’re Camera 1!
Aswin: No, I’m not.
Me: Yes you are!
Aswin zooms in the the host
“10 seconds till we’re on air!”
I grab the camera and do it for him

2. Me: OK, since I need to hold onto the camera here, you need to do the countdown. When its two minutes remaining, hold up two fingers. One minute, hold up one finger.
“Two minutes remaining until adbreak”
Aswin: *mumbles* Two minutes
Holds up two fingers
The point of this is, you don’t tell the hosts on live TV there is two minutes remaining verbally. Duh.

3. He kept looking at me for when to do hand movements, even though I told him I need to hold the camera. This meant I had to keep locking it and doing them myself, and he would copy me. When he did them himself, he sucked and didn’t get the hosts attention so I had to do it anyway.
